Chapter Seven

Ralphie

“You-you love me? Like with your real heart really, really love me?” Was it true? Please let it be true ‘cause I loved Daddy Marcel so much.

Daddy pulled me into his arms and gazed down at me. “I really, really love you with my whole heart, Ralphie.”

“Daddy,” those dumb tears were back. “I love you so very much and I was so afraid you’d never love me back, but I’d make it work cause I don’t want to let you go.”

“Breathe, Ralphie. Not sure how you managed to get that all out in one breath.” But Daddy was smiling so that meant he wasn’t mad. “Remember what I said earlier? Don’t ever do something you don’t want to do. Don’t be with someone who’s incapable of loving you the way you deserve. But I promise you this Daddy loves you with his whole heart and he plans to hang onto you forever.”

“Daddy.” I clenched his robe and buried my face in it. The tears wouldn’t stop for anything. Daddy loved me and besides him, Tessy was the only other person who’d said those words to me.

“I’ve got you, sweet boy.” Daddy rubbed my back in soothing circles. “Daddy’s got you and he’s not letting you go.”

I hoped with every ounce of me that was true.

Daddy picked me up and I wrapped my legs around him. “You’re strong, Daddy.”

“Not too bad for a man my age and having a home gym helps. Became a bit of a home gym rat these last couple of years. Nice to know it’s paid off.”

Daddy carried me up the stairs and sat me on his bed.

“Do you want to sleep in here with Daddy or in the guest room tonight?” Unsure Daddy was another cute side of my Daddy.

“In here with Daddy, please.”

“Next question, shower by yourself or with Daddy?”

“With Daddy, please.”

Daddy started the shower water then removed both our robes. “You’re beautiful, Ralphie.”

I’d only seen Daddy’s winky area before but now that I’d seen all of him, he was…wow.

“You, too, Daddy. I like all the lines on your tummy.” I traced them and Daddy laughed.

“I believe those are my abs, little one. Come on, shower time.”

“Daddy, you have the perfect tub for tubby time.”

“I do, we’ll have to do that soon. I believe there may be a set of rubber duckies somewhere, too.”

Tessy was right, Daddy did have rubber duckies.

Before I said whoa, for the thousandth time today, I took the time to choose other words. “Your shower could fit like, ten people in it.”

“Maybe so, but I can assure you it’s never held more than two. Now, let Daddy wash you.” He soaped up my hair and body, making sure to hit all my ticklish spots so I’d giggle then he rinsed me off and stepped under the second shower head area to wash himself.

“Yay! Another towel warmer.” How had I managed to live this long without one? “Whoever invented these was a genius.”

“I concur, my love. Now, let’s get dried off and into bed.
